Kavlico’s low cost, OEM P4050 barometric pressure transducer has been designed to withstand hostile, high vibration and broad temperature range environments found in on & off-highway vehicle engine and powertrain applications.

The sensor has a pressure range of 5.8 PSIA to 15.95 PSIA and operates on a 5 Vdc power supply providing a 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc output.

Designed for high volume applications, the piezoresistive (PRT) sensing technology is extremely repeatable, stable, and accurate. The lightweight yet rugged composite housing design can withstand operating temperatures of -40°C to +125°C, as well as operate in high shock and electromagnetically noisy environments.

The sensor can withstand submergence in water and is salt-spray tolerant due to a hydrophobic barrier making it well suited for marine environments.

The sensor itself provides versatility when it comes to installation as it is mounted to the vehicle integrally with a wiring harness, or it may be connected by a user-supplied bracket assembly.

Kavlico manufactures a selection of pressure and combined pressure and temperature sensors for such aerospace applications as turbine inlet pressure, hydraulic system health monitoring, and high-pressure hydraulic actuator measurements.

Typical Specifications:

  • Excitation up to 28 Vdc
  • Accuracies
    • Better than ±2% F.S. from -40°F to +125°F
    • As low as ±0.5% F.S over narrow temperature ranges
  • Oil-filled piezoresistive (PRT) sensors utilize a metal diaphragm for total media isolation from electronics
  • High repeatability
  • Amplified and non-amplified output options
  • Highly sophisticated ASIC can be used for calibration accuracy over temperature
  • Pressure ranges from 1" H20 to 10,000 psi

Presently, Kavlico pressure sensors and combined pressure & temperature sensors are employed on the F35 program.
