Kavlico’s MAP sensor utilizes a single-chip MEMS technology that is trimmed to the required calibration. Using a unique proprietary technology exclusive to Kavlico allows the sensor to be very compact and cost-effective while retaining the best possible performance and reliability. A variety of packaging options can be specified including a direct mount fastener-less design. A host of pressure ranges are available along with an integral temperature sensing option.

Kavlico’s oil pressure sensor has been designed to measure engine oil pressure for either gasoline or diesel engine applications as well as for compressors and other industrial machinery. This sensor can be designed using either Kavlico’s ceramic capacitive or piezoresistive (PRT) sensing technologies depending upon the users application-specific criteria. Offered with a variety of connector and housing configuration options, the sensor utilizes Kavlico’s patented ASIC electronic integration technologies for extremely reliable and accurate signal conditioning.

Transmissions, whether for On or Off-highway vehicles use a variety of technologies, most of which utilize fluids under pressure for control and lubrication. Pressure ranges can be from 100 psi up to 700 psi or more. Kavlico offers many sensors that utilize various sensing technologies to monitor pressure in automotive transmission applications.

Kavlico was the first to offer a fully submersible sensor to monitor governor line pressure while also incorporating an integral temperature-sensing element. Compatible with most transmission fluids, these sensors are digitally trimmed to meet exacting customer specifications.

Continuously-Variable Transmission’s (CVT)’s normally operate at higher pressures and this requirement is addressed with Kavlico’s thin-film PRT sensor design that works best for system pressure ranges of 500 psi and higher as may be used by hydrostatic transmission applications.

Torque Transfer Clutches (TTC) can be effectively controlled via an electronic control system in conjunction with a pressure sensor. Kavlico’s PRT sensor is a very compact and cost-effective option for this application where the device is directly exposed to the filtered media.

Convention gasoline injection systems operate at pressures up to 75 psia, while Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) systems operate at 2,000 psi or higher. Common Rail Direct Injection (CDI) systems for diesel engines can operate between 20,000 and 40,000 psi, and Kavlico has sensors designed to meet each of these measurement criteria via the use of our broad range of sensing technology options.

Measurement needs for low pressure systems are best addressed with either Kavlico’s PRT or ceramic capacitive sensing technology based upon the need for either gage or absolute measurement parameters.

Kavlico’s PRT sensors have been designed to measure the difference between intake manifold pressure and fuel pressure which is an effective approach in monitoring of fuel rail systems. For GDI and CDI systems, Kavlico’s thin-film technology is very effective due to the higher pressure capabilities.
