Nosewheel steering
starts in the cockpit (via the pilot
inputs) with the steering handwheel
for low speeds and pedals for higher
speeds.
Kavlico provides
sensors for position feedback for
steering handwheels or the entire
steering handwheel. Additionally,
Kavlico can provide RVDTs or LVDTs
for pedal position feedback.
On the nosewheel
strut, steer by wire systems require
main ram and servo valve position
feedback; Kavlico manufactures a wide
array of RVDTs or LVDTs for main ram
feedback (the main rams are usually
in a push-pull configuration) and
LVDTs for electrohydraulic servo valve
(EHSV) feedback.
Modern aircraft
that require brake by wire systems
use LVDTs for the brake pedal inputs.
